Well! First of all you have to create a blog account and I would recommend blogger.com to create a new account. Although you can create a blog account in wordpress or .. also but most of my articles will cover issues related to blogger.com so I will definitely recommend you a blogger account.
So
GET SET GO
First of all create a gmail account if you don't have. It's not as tough as most of you already have an email account. But to get the services of blogger you need to have a GMail Account.
You can signup

Provide all the necessary details and within few moments you will have your GMail account. The Gmail id will be your gateway to many applications and features provided by Google. Yes it's a multipurpose id, not just a simple email id.
Well, After creating gmail account visit Blogger

Here you login with your gmail id and password
After login you will see a link Create your blog
Click on that you will be asked for few details like name your blog and blog url etc.
After filling those details click on continue
Then you will be asked to choose a starter template. Just choose any one. Later you can change your template anytime without any problem. After selecting your template just click on continue and hurray your blog is up!! Welcome to the blogworld..
You can play with the design and setting tab and see what blogger have in store for your.
On Design tab in the page elements you will see Add a Gadget link. Simply click on that will see lot of resources for blogger. Just go through them and see what you need in your blog. I will cover few important gadgets in my future posts and will let you know how to best utilize them.
And do not forget to publish your first Post.
Just go to the posting tab and on New Post option give a title for your first post and type first message in the box and provide a label for that post. Choose label carefully as these labels will help you and your visitors locating the posts in the blog.
Click the publish post and cheers!
